Raised in a Christian home, his parents were born again and spirit filled. Attending church for the first time when he was five days old, he has always been part of a church body.

Phil's parents were children's church leaders. Using puppets, skits and songs to teach about Jesus they would end the class with a bible story and an altar call for the children to be saved, healed or filled with the Holy Spirit.

Born again at the age of five, he knew he was called to the nations. Nations were in his heart and he had dreams of ministering to a sea of people that reached as far as the eye could see. He saw faces that were many different colors. Some of these things are beginning to take place in the natural now as he travels the world ministering.

The Rich family was in church for every service and went to tent revivals when the opportunity came. As a child, Phil saw many healings and miracles in these revivals.

Hurt by what he saw church people do to his parents when they were pastoring, Phil decided he didn't want to be in the ministry. However, God always knew where he was and two years later, he rededicated his life to the Lord. At that time, the Lord spoke to him that he would sing, teach and preach for God.

He joined his dad for a series of meetings at a church comprised of mostly older adults. They took turns doing the preaching. As the week progressed, more and more young people, teens and young adults began attending.  At one meeting he noticed a beautiful young lady sitting in the service. Asked to minister to her by her sister, the Lord used him to set her free from bondages in her life.

Hearing the Lord tell him that she would be his wife did not fit with the list of qualifications Phil had. God was persistent though and he finally proposed to her. Their ten month courtship was done mainly by letter and telephone as they lived a distance from each other. During this time they shared their visions and what God was doing in their individual lives.

Married for twenty-seven years, they have three children and five grandchildren. When not on the road ministering, he resides in Mustang, Oklahoma with his wife, Connie, who is also an accomplished minister.
